Some of the best news for 2012 is that the entire staff form 2011 will be returning.
As 2011 was a very successful year with very positive feedback from those attending, we are not making any significant changes to the existing programs. However, due to the overwhelming demand for the program, we are adding an additional week.
In Basic Skills Program the skill set within this age group is quite variable. Therefore the morning and afternoon sessions, although open to the same age groups and having identical training sessions, will vary somewhat. The morning session will focus more on the skill set of the younger skaters and will be best suited for 2004 thru 2006 birth year players. The afternoon session will be at a somewhat higher tempo and try to push the players more. The afternoon session will be best suited for stronger skating 2003 and 2004 birth years.
The most significant change for 2012 will be the addition of the Essential Skills Program that will for primarily 2002 and 2003 birth year skaters. This program is designed to bridge the gap between the Basic Skills and the Complete Training Program. This program will consist of 4 and a half hours of ice time at a tempo higher than the Basic Skills Program, but not as demanding as the Complete Training Program. It is best suited for 8 and 9 year olds who want more than the Basic Skills Program offers and also for 10 year olds who are not sure if they are ready for Complete Training Program. Check out the detailed description of the Essential Skills Program HERE.
The Complete Training Program will again be offered three different weeks. Although the content is the same for all three of these sessions, the intensity will build throughout the three weeks providing additional challenges and variety for students attending multiple weeks. Due to the increasing intensity, it is not recommended that a 10 year old student, that is attending for the first time sign up for the third week of this program. Conversely, a 14 or 15 year old student wanting a warm up before attending the Elite Program would be better off attending the third week of this program, not the first.
