Project UNIFY is a unique Special Olympics Wisconsin Project UNIFY sponsored, school based program that teams students with and without cognitive disabilities, through training and sports competition, social and recreational opportunities.

The club provides opportunities to build student character, increase acceptance of disabilities, and develop leadership and other skills in an inclusive setting.  In addition, service-learning can be an integral component of Project UNIFY.

Through Project UNIFY, students at Northland Pines High School have the opportunity to participate in Unified Sports, inclusive sport opportunities (teams consisting of Special Olympic athletes and peer partners) that provide training and friendly competition.

Learn to Skate is one of three Unified Sports offered this year.    Participants in the Learn to Skate program met at the Eagle River Recreation Association on Wednesday afternoons for six weeks.  On Thursday night between the first and second periods of the varsity hockey game,  there will be a demonstration of skills that our athletes with special needs have acquired with the support of their peer partners.

PLEASE JOIN US AND BE A FAN IN THE STANDS!

Northland Pines High School Project UNIFY would like to offer a sincere thank you to ‘Mac ‘McDonald and the ERRA Board for their generous donation of ice time.  We would also like to thank Coach DePuydt and Mr. Rhode for collecting the necessary equipment to make this a success!
