Tradition on Ice Hockey Camp returns to the ERRA
If it’s one thing you probably know by now, hockey roots run deep here in Eagle River, and this summer, the ice will come alive with a very special homecoming. From August 11-13, 2025, the 2nd Annual Crazy 8’s Tradition on Ice Hockey Camp returns to the ERRA and proceeds are set to benefit the ERRA and Pines Boys & Girls hockey programs.
Three Northland Pines alumni who once dreamed big are coming back to where it all begin: Michael Siergiej (‘04), Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej (‘04), and Jeff Carr (‘03) have teamed up to create a perfectly crafted three day camp for boys and girls. It’s more than just a skill clinic! It’s a sincere effort to give back to the community and rink that helped launch their journeys.
“We are very excited to bring Tradition on Ice back to Eagle River this summer,” shared Jinelle. “Our goal is to grow the game in the hockey community and give back to the program that gave us as alumni so much!”
Today, these former Eagles are making their mark far beyond the Northwoods. Jinelle Zaugg-Siergiej, a two time NCAA champion with the Wisconsin Badgers and a silver medalist for Team USA at the 2010 Olympics, now serves as the Associate Head Coach for the St. Cloud State women’s hockey team. Jeff Carr has built a strong coaching career and currently leads the Norfolk Admirals as Head Coach in thee ECHL, one of the premier development leagues for pro hockey. And Michael Siergiej, has channeled his lifelong love for the game into coaching youth hockey in St. Cloud, helping shape young athletes with the same passion that defined his earlier days.
Jeff Carr expressed his enthusiasm: “Coming back to the Dome is always special. It’s where so many of my favorite memories were made. Being able to return, not just to visit, but to give back to the next generation is an honor. The community here shaped who I am, and this is a small way I get to say thank you.”
A representative from the ERRA says, “It’s so great to see alumni show such genuine gratitude for their time at the ERRA! Jinelle, Mike, Jeff and their staff’s energy around the magic of Tradition on Ice is magnetic. With the incredible success of running the Crazy 8’s camp, known for delivering high level instruction, they’re bringing a rare mix of experience, skill and leadership that's a true gift to the next generation of players!”
