📈 How It Works:

Participants sign up and log their shots by age group at HockeyShare.com. Search Eagle River Recreational Association and applicable age group. Shot goals by group are:

Mites: 4,000 shots
Squirts: 8,000 shots
Peewees, Bantams, Girls U14: 10,000 shots
Goalies:
Option 1: Take 5,000 shots + stickhandling + wall ball
Option 2: Be shot on 5,000 times + wall ball + stickhandling
Bonus Tracking:
15 minutes of wall ball = 50 shots
30 minutes of stickhandling = 100 shots (encouraged for all players)

🏒 Helpful Tips for Success:

Have at least 10 pucks so you can shoot in rhythm without chasing after one puck every time.
Wear your hockey gloves during practice to simulate real-game handling.
Don’t have a net? No problem! Here are some creative target ideas:
A piece of plywood with a net spray painted on it
A hockey shooting training tarp
A painters tarp with a net spray painted on it
Chalk or tape squares on a garage door (just check with your parents first!)
An old dryer like Sydney Crosby used

And don’t just repeat the same motion—mix up your shot types: wrist shots, snap shots, slap shots, backhands, and in-motion shooting. Building muscle memory for all situations is what makes a shooter elite.

Offseason development is where good players become great. Shooting and stickhandling regularly:

Builds muscle memory
Improves accuracy and shot speed
Enhances hand-eye coordination
Boosts confidence with the puck
Prepares you to compete at a higher level when the season begins

Repetition creates results—put in the work now and you’ll notice the difference on the ice this fall.

All participants who complete their age group goal will receive:

A 10,000 Shot Club T-Shirt (awarded during High School Hockey Youth Night)
Their name permanently featured on the brand new 10,000 Shot Club Plaque on display at the rink!
